I just love how deep you both go, without falling out from the wider context. Thank you so much, Breaking History is a very inspiring show!

Just one interesting source about Annie Besant's life - her autobiography:

"My dear mother had a passion for music, and Beethoven and Bach were her favourite composers. There was scarcely a sonata of Beethoven’s that I did not learn, scarcely a fugue of Bach’s that I did not master. "

Annie Besant, "Annie Besant: An Autobiography", 3.7

British Goverment gaoled Besant for 3 months for opposing them in India.

The Theosophists had connections with Freemasonry and introduced Comasonry which included women. I believe that in Christchurch NZ the same architect designed the Theosophical Hall and the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, the Catholic Cathedral if that would mean anything. Associated with the Theosophical Society was the Liberal Catholic Church of St Francis of Assissi, the priests of which could marry a wife. I am not trying to promote anything, only to more understand the engines driving humanity, concepts such as culling and their roots. Various arguments here: https://www.religiousforums.com/threads/theosophy.147149/
