Canadians from all walks of life are being charged up on fear porn around claims of Chinese election interference and subversion of our “rules based democratic order”. But is it true? Is there even a shred of evidence to support this claim circulated by classified briefings among Canada’s intelligence community OR is there a darker game at play?
I do not doubt the stories contained, although I lack the background concerning Canada. I was first thinking it was the DC think tank CSIS! But there is a big piece missing. Is anyone who doubts that Chinese and Russian intelligence has equally cynical elements who are anxious to play footsie? Or are we ignoring the factions in intelligence in the US who stood up bravely against the Bust takeover in December 2020___when NGOs,peace activists, journalists and politicians ran away in fear. This tale is much more complex than is suggested. 9.11 was launched in part by the Bush administration because the opposition to their illegal government was reaching a critical mass that could overthrow them. And who was spearheading the fight against American fascism in August 2001? Well, it was not Noam Chomsky or Dennis Kucinich..they were hiding under the table. It was brave factions in US...come on, don't be shy....... intelligence
We have to remind ourselves when Trudeau first came to power he was running a "pay for access" where top level Chinese business execs got to spend time with him. Trudeau also sent a delegation to court a free trade agreement with China and it came home empty handed. The accusation of interference in our elections goes hand in hand with NATO's preparation for war against China, and the usual vilification required to justify it. We might also bear in mind our foreign policy re China is made in the USA.
Canada is alarmingly Sinophobic and Russiaphobic where willful ignorance is bliss.
