"Why and how was this entire generation born in the wake of WWII trained to believe that it were best to detach the mind from past, future and even moral reason itself in order to attempt to live in the ephemeral “now”?"

Sounds more like a working hypotheses, than a statement of fact, but knowing the quality of your work you'll turn it into a good working thesis by the end of the video.

As a baby boomer myself I didn't seem to observe what I claimed to be a hypotheses, but maybe I was too close to the trees to see the forest. Or maybe I had another agenda from the very beginning, because even as a child I knew that kids grow old and die long before their bodies stop breathing.

Hey Roy

I've known many outliers from your generation who kept hold of their sense of identity tied to the past, future and conscience, but despite that, like you noted, there is a broader forest as a group dynamic unit which were targetted for heavy doses of mass behavioral conditioning which no one was fully immune from, and we all carry that with us, although the spirit's power to heal is infinite and gets better as we become ever more self aware of our true selves and learn to live comfortably outside of our ever growing comfort zones... which is where transformation and creative discovery lives.
