Well, in retrospect it was funny, given that on the day JFK made that remark, he appointed McCone as the new CIA director, one of the most activist directors the "Company" ever had. The CIA's overthrow of 5 governments and the de facto ouster of the Diefenbaker government in Canada is one of those chapters of history that's been deeply hidden, particularly because many who would otherwise reveal it don't, out of ideological committment to JFK's sanitized memory.
imo JFK was realizing he was surrounded by wolves and decided to do something about it...don't forget it was the height of the Cold War and he came from a generation that fought in WW2 and hated Communism. If he had lived he would have done a great deal of good, including getting out of Vietnam, restoring the US Treasury and gold-backed money, and his brother would have done much to end poverty as AG.
JFK made it a point during the 1960 campaign to put forth the idea that the ability of the US Armed Forces fo fight a conventional war of any size had to be built up what he called "flexible response" should replace the the Eisenhower military strategy of "instant retaliation," 100% dependence upon going to nukes once any fighting starts. This kept the US unable to enforce imperial interests while insurgencies spread in Latin America, Africa and Asia. That ability was indeed massively expanded while he was president, and enabled the US to pursue the Vietnam War.

Their HQ in Ft Bragg, North Carolina, is named "the John F Kennedy Special Forces Training Center." Several reasons. They (as a team) doubled crossed the Chicago Mafia. That outfit got JFK elected president, a favor to Joe Kennedy Sr, an old friend, together with the Chicago Daley machine, by creating a victory for him in Illinois, which supplied the electoral votes that elected JFK. Once in office, the two brothers turned on that machine and had key figures in it fingered, tried and sent away, perhaps a favor to the New York/Boston mobs.(?) appropos to this I highly recommend a 2018 4 part doc appearing on the Netflix platform called "Bobby for President", footage and things I never saw before, stuff I forgot, etc.,very interesting. I don’t know. There are so many conspiracy theories on the JFK assassination that you would think Dealy Plaza would be crawling with mysterious gunman. But nobody saw anything. Zero. Zilch. Well, that’s not quite true. Several witnesses reported seeing what appeared to be a gunman in the sixth floor corner window of the now infamous TSBD building. Which is why Dallas police quickly focused their investigation there, finding a sniper’s nest, spent cartridges on the floor and a rifle tucked away among some boxes. A quick roll call of the building’s employees accounted for everyone except one Lee Harvey Oswald who turned up about an hour later cornered in a theatre after shooting a policeman in a moment of panic. He got the job there thanks to a family friend who lived down the street -a completely random event which best describes the JFK assassination.

imo when George HW Bush repeatedly spoke of "a thousand points of light" in his sick way he was referencing Pres Kennedy's desire to obliterate the CIA of which GHWB was a major player and was in Dallas on the day. He probably thought it was funny.
Well, in retrospect it was funny, given that on the day JFK made that remark, he appointed McCone as the new CIA director, one of the most activist directors the "Company" ever had. The CIA's overthrow of 5 governments and the de facto ouster of the Diefenbaker government in Canada is one of those chapters of history that's been deeply hidden, particularly because many who would otherwise reveal it don't, out of ideological committment to JFK's sanitized memory.
imo JFK was realizing he was surrounded by wolves and decided to do something about it...don't forget it was the height of the Cold War and he came from a generation that fought in WW2 and hated Communism. If he had lived he would have done a great deal of good, including getting out of Vietnam, restoring the US Treasury and gold-backed money, and his brother would have done much to end poverty as AG.
JFK made it a point during the 1960 campaign to put forth the idea that the ability of the US Armed Forces fo fight a conventional war of any size had to be built up what he called "flexible response" should replace the the Eisenhower military strategy of "instant retaliation," 100% dependence upon going to nukes once any fighting starts. This kept the US unable to enforce imperial interests while insurgencies spread in Latin America, Africa and Asia. That ability was indeed massively expanded while he was president, and enabled the US to pursue the Vietnam War.
He created the "Green Berets," the US Special Forces, whose very job was to fight these counterinsurgencies. Their HQ in Ft Bragg, North Carolina, is named "the John F Kennedy Special Forces Training Center." This outfit and JFK's Agency For International Development, essentially a front for the CIA, and its "Alliance For Progress," god fathered Latin America's death squads. The North American Council for Latin America, NACLA, has plenty of documents about this.
John McCone's CIA overthrew governments in Ecuador, Guatemala, El Salvador and British Guiana, with JFK's explicit approval, as "he was in the room." Bobby Kennedy, working with the CIA per JFK's assignment, created and pursued Operation Mongoose, whose goal was to assassinate Castro, 400+ Cubans were killed by its various operations.
US Treasury? JFK put Douglas Dillon of Dillon, Reed and Co, a large Wall St firm, in charge of it. The top man in Treasury re international Relations was Robert Roosa, from the New York Fed Reserve Bank, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. 20 years later, he was one of the original members of the Trilateral Commission.
Every single member of JFK's cabinet stayed on after LBJ became president, except for Bobby, who left to run for the Senate, likewise JFK's top advisers like McGeorge and William Bundy (childhood friends of JFK) and George Ball, all CFR people. JFK is just plain mythologized by people today who don't know HISTORY.
And Bobby and poverty? His idea for poverty was "free enterprise zones" in the urban cores, giving corporations tax breaks and other deals as well as suspending minimum wage laws in return for them investing in these zones. His demonstration project was the Bedford–Stuyvesant Development Corporation in BedStuy, Brooklyn's large black ghetto. What a great deal ... for corporations.

Several reasons. They (as a team) doubled crossed the Chicago Mafia. That outfit got JFK elected president, a favor to Joe Kennedy Sr, an old friend, together with the Chicago Daley machine, by creating a victory for him in Illinois, which supplied the electoral votes that elected JFK. Once in office, the two brothers turned on that machine and had key figures in it fingered, tried and sent away, perhaps a favor to the New York/Boston mobs.(?) You don't cross the Mob and expect to get away with it.
JFK decided to not go fully in per plan during the Bay of Pigs, realized there was no putting lipstick on this Bay of Pigs, it was a crackpot operation he inherited. Not an ethical concern, just a realization there was no way to succeed without an outright US invasion, which he didn't wanna risk. Instead, he and Bobby plotted to assassinate Castro. But quite a few exiles got pissed off, more than a few worked for the CIA, which also had mob connections.
And JFK was not gonna pursue an escalation in Vietnam, again not because of ethics but rather because he did not think it was a strategic US interest, and that commitment there would weaken the US ability to enforce its key interests, namely Latin America, Europe, Africa and other parts of Asia, e.g. Indonesia, Philippines, Japan. He was right, this is what the war resulted in. There were elements of the ruling elite who wanted the war, partly because of feeling like the US had to demonstrate total control of the world and put down deviance from that goal, as a successful insurgency in the southern part of Vietnam threatened to do. And they also saw war spending as a boon to keep an artificial post WWII prosperity going.
Having three such interest groups within the CIA makes for fertile plans to assassinate JFK. And they did it. The Mafia did not forgive Bobby either. And getting a Palestinian immigrant to play stooge was not hard, Bobby had made very clear he totally sided with the Israeli colonialist state against the Palestinian people whom that state was ethnically cleansing, a process stepped up after Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza in June 1967. It still goes on, and Bobby Jr a week or so ago cast his lot with pro-Israel zealots in a parade in New York.

But I'm struggling to understand how you believe a future under a global communist hegemony or totalitarian state, led by China and Russia, as agreed to at the 80 party congress in 1960 post-Stalin, is the only viable pathway to a future worth living. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, vast swaths of Europe, and the U.S. are being dismantled by many of the forces you all describe but also, and chiefly, by China in alliance with its communist partners and with willing sell-outs in each country (to be fair). Your ability to speak power to truth on Substack, while it lasts, depends on free speech protections which, the last I looked, don't exist in China. If you are a CEO of a US manufacturing company that wants to bid on projects where the Belt and Road initiative exists, you are shut out and in many cases, products just like your US products are available to the Belt and Road partner for free (having been copied) as long as the larger project (a road for example) is built using Chinese labor and materials. And there is no quid pro quo or long-term debt or obligation for being a Belt and Road partner? Au contraire. Something doesn't make sense in this post and others as regards the complete pass that China and the communists worldwide are getting in their march towards many of the same goals as the globalists and colonialists. The book "JFK and the Unspeakable" by James Douglass corroborates your points, elaborating in detail on the "sins" JFK committed that infuriated the military-intelligence establishment that was exerting intense pressure on him (Bay of Pigs, Cuban missile crisis, nuclear test ban treaty, seeking better relations with Soviet Union, preparing for direct talks with Castro, intent to pull out of Vietnam, etc), while also acknowledging some mistakes he made along the way (like appointing McCone).
appropos to this I highly recommend a 2018 4 part doc appearing on the Netflix platform called "Bobby for President", footage and things I never saw before, stuff I forgot, etc.,very interesting. And it is so clear Sirhan was totally under mind control whether or not he actually fired a gun at anyone, and he was not in the right position to shoot RFK in the head on the right behind his ear. He's interviewed Dane Wiggington twice. He's interviewed Patrick Moore of original Greenpeace. Just reminded about all the trump executive orders that were so unbelievably destructive. and millions around the world starved with his participation in lockdowns. Some argue it was about strategy. I'd like to see evidence of that. RFK Jr. clear about the destructive poisoning by corporate behemoths and government colluders in our own agencies. I don’t know. There are so many conspiracy theories on the JFK assassination that you would think Dealy Plaza would be crawling with mysterious gunman. But nobody saw anything. Zero. Zilch. Well, that’s not quite true. Several witnesses reported seeing what appeared to be a gunman in the sixth floor corner window of the now infamous TSBD building. Which is why Dallas police quickly focused their investigation there, finding a sniper’s nest, spent cartridges on the floor and a rifle tucked away among some boxes. A quick roll call of the building’s employees accounted for everyone except one Lee Harvey Oswald who turned up about an hour later cornered in a theatre after shooting a policeman in a moment of panic. He got the job there thanks to a family friend who lived down the street -a completely random event which best describes the JFK assassination.
