In a recent Rising Tide Foundation lecture, Cynthia Chung delivered a powerful deep dive into the rise of a cult of ugliness that took over the popular culture over the course of the past two centuries. By showcasing the root causes of this artificial aesthetical paradigm shift, we are thus better able to appreciate the sublime beauty of great classical humanist artists who fought to uplift and ennoble the human spirit through their craft.
A brilliant and insightful analysis which explains much of how we got to where we are today, invaluable in that we come to understand that there is hope for human redemption and light to be found in the darkness that surrounds all of us in today's world.
