wow, wow, wow...the child trafficking though, I guess I should have expected it, and using the premier ocean liner ships of the day...A. Mitchell Palmer was a real POS and Flynn was trying to do his best in a very corrupt situation...Erich Weiss was clearly brilliant and also very brave...I wonder why his wife prevented his body from being exhumed and autopsied, perhaps she was afraid of the possible results...Arthur Conan Doyle another POS...these people pervert anything positive about being spiritual and interested in life after death, there have been so many near death experiences and other phenomena which are legit and not about having seances and using these things for their own nefarious purposes as well as ripping people off and tricking them. There is an institute at the University of Virginia which studies these things by neuroscientists and psychologists and psychiatrists, John Cleese has been friends with them for several years, uvadops.com is their website, they did a great video in 2018 it's on YouTube.
My respect for Houdini has increased enormously. Thank you for doing this series, Matt.
Wow! This was an amazing read! I had no idea that Houdini was much, much more than just a mere magician/escape artist. It's nice to know that he can be added to the historical 'good guys' list.
In some other works they claim that Houdini was born with the ability of teleportation . That's how
he escaped from the Scotland Yard's prison . This ability was very much needed for espionage .
This ability had to be declared a trick . That was a reason for attacking most psychic phenomenon . Interestingly he never attempted to meet with William John Werner(Aka: Chiro) or Edgar Cayce .
Ridiculing the fakes is easy but the real ones can get scary .
In my opinion this eleventh part should be titled The occult Houdini. What the hell does all this have to do with Tesla's decades of comprehensive work in science and technology?
My father always took a great interest in Houdini's life and the circumstances surrounding his death, so this was an interesting read for me. Ultimately with some of this occultist stuff the tail is wagging the dog whether you believe in supernatural phenomena or not, because too many people with money and power do believe in it. I think it does ultimately come back to a fear of death in them and the attraction to money, power and control that this engenders. That said I believe there is a great deal that we don't know about death and what follows on from it...
Edgar Allan Poe? Didja ever hear of this that he wrote just before he passed?
"The Conversation of Erios and Charmion" was published in 1850, the year after E.A. Poe passed away. It's Poe's vision of of how this Age ends. It was mentioned in a footnote of "Worlds In Collision" by Immanuel Velekovsky https://allpoetry.com/The-Conversation-Of-Eiros-And-Charmion
For sure your work on houdini would be more Complete then mine. Since i love to write about stuff but i havent got even 10% of your writting skill. But i thank you! For the book advice about houdini secret life and the eye opening schemes it bring forth (got so sad with arthur conan doyle behavior) he WAS my favorite before learning all this. He got bad taste in wife…i would trade beth anytime for that witch jean lecky!
