After collecting about 12 pounds of English and Black walnuts, I realized that there is no way I can eat or preserve that much in one winter. I have been leaving a few, every few days now, precrushed, for the family of 3 sibling squirrels that seem to live in my Linden tree. Can I keep it up all winter? I spose they will hibernate, so I guess the next month is crucial for their 'fat stores'. Ah, when we interefere with nature, we are bound to care. Best from Oregon

Always was in comfort with nature myself. Squirrel and I are doing fine now once he realized I wasn’t after his nuts.

The abstraction of what might happen in the future drives creatures crazy including us.
