Off subject but not sure other ways to reach you. Thank you for your explanation of the importance of primary sources for any kind of research. I had queried you before about your thoughts on aether. I think your response was only any empty head can conceive of an empty space.
I then went out to try to find a primary source. What i found was a letter written by Mendeleev himself describing his process. In case you are interested here it is
