Most things we do to “help” Africa end up gravely upsetting the balance. One example that stands out in my mind are the tsetse fly eradication programs that resulted in too many cattle & causes rampant desertification. The Western mind simply does not grasp the internal logic of the continent. Matt in his commentaries with regard to JFK glorifies his intentions interrupted by his death. Is this true? Analyzing JFK’s attitude toward Cuba makes me question his character. For years I have accepted JFK as a clever manipulator to build an image that was far different from his intentions, his beliefs. The whole issue of the Cuban missile crisis, the etiology and handling of it by Kennedy shows who he truly was. His dedication to eliminate Fidel Castro by designating 30 million dollars for Fidel’s Castro shows his true beliefs. Cuba sovereignty is and was beyond question. The fact that America had bases around the world with weapons aimed at Russia meant nothing to him.
In summary, base on facts not philosophical analysis, Kennedy was as evil as evil can be. He represented a modified American geopolitical views that disregarded the needs of others to protect American elite’s interest. I strongly encourage you Matthew to re-examine your view of Kennedy not to fit my view but to asses the truth based on facts not assumptions, speculations or philosophical masturbation.
